About Us
Louise Leah
My passion for scrapbooking and preserving memories began in November 2006 when my baby girl was born sleeping. Struggling to find answers and searching for a way to heal, a friend introduced me to the world of digital scrapbooking. I soon began recording the story of my daughter’s short but precious life. By combining photos with poetry, ultrasound photos and letters from family, I found a way to heal, to share my daughter with the world and to find peace with her passing.
In January 2008, I lost my precious son, also to stillbirth. Although this was a tragic and heartbreaking experience to go through again, my journey to find peace was life changing. The process of recording his story to share with family and friends became a focus for me and also brought my sister-in-law and friend Samantha closer together. Out of our friendship came our dream for Beautiful Fairy and preserving the memories of others. Trying new techniques and learning as much as I could to create an album my son and my family would be proud of. That I would be proud of.
I finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl in September 2009 and the joy that it brings me to create pages marking her milestones is indescribable.
I have been a part of various digital scrapbooking communities and a layout artist for several digital scrapbook designers. My layouts have also been published in digital magazines such as The Artisan Notebook.

I began creating digital compositions after seeing Louise’s beautiful memory albums. The first project I completed was my wedding album. At the time of our wedding, I was not happy with many of the options available for having an album made. I had many beautiful photos that had been taken by guests at the wedding. It was also really important to me to have the words my husband and I had painstakingly written for our ceremony recorded. In time I was able to create an album that showcased our professional photos while also capturing the special candid photos taken by guests. Most importantly to me, the album I created reflected our personalities and how we felt on the day. The only problem with it was that it took four years to complete!
I continued to create special keepsake albums for my children during their first years, and together with Louise wondered how many other parents and grandparents would love to capture these memories but simply did not have the time to work on their own projects. How many collections of wedding photos, or holiday photos, were languishing on hard drives or in drawers? Not because they weren’t special or important, but simply because completing a large project with a professional touch required time and skill. Out of this questioning, Beautiful Fairy was born.
I have an honours degree in history, which is what drives me. I believe our stories are important. They may not be stories of great accomplishments or earth changing moments, but they are ours and they are precious. I love to be a part of a business that helps people to record their own special stories.
