Baby’s First Year Gift Packages- Terms and Conditions

Gift box will be sent to the recipients once there is a minimum of two months contribution made towards the package
Album sizes can be swapped, but only if design work has not commenced on the album, or if the album ratio is the same. Eg, 8×8 and 12×12 albums are interchangeable, but not 8×12 and 12×12
Work on each month will only commence with payment made for that month
Printing of the album will take place once the album has been paid for in full.
The person who establishes the account is responsible for ensuring there are enough contributors for the album, and elects to pay the difference between contributions and any amounts outstanding
Contributions are non refundable. In the event of an album being unable to be fully paid for, the printed pages will be supplied or the amount can be held in credit for other Beautiful fairy gifts and services for a period of 12 months.

Every page is designed to match your photos, memories and personal tastes. We work with you to suit your unique situation, and you are free to give as much or as little direction as you like. We do not offer ‘one size fits all’ templates. having Beautiful Fairy create your personalised photo books is also a wonderful way to save time and ensure that your most precious memories are recorded.

I don’t have any nice photos- what’s the point?

It doesn’t matter how good or nice your photos are. They are records of an event or a moment in your life, and that makes them special. Having them edited and retouched, supported by beautiful graphics with your story told alongside will turn any collection of a boring or a bad photos into treasured memories.

Some of my photos are digital, but lots are film prints or negatives. Will you still work with them?

Absolutely. We offer scanning of photos and negatives. All print photos are scanned at 1200dpi, which means that a 4×6 inch photo can be printed at A3 size (12×18 inches) with no distortion or pixilation. We allow for the scanning of 40 images in a 20 page album, and provide you with a digital copy with your photobook.

How do your photo books work?

We have a welcome pack we send out to each new client, which has a folder with some questions, handy information, websites, and all the details about your album (along with some tasty treats). We also set up an online file share on Box.net, which is extremely simple to use. You simply click add, and then drag and drop your photos. In this way we can access them. Box will also send us an email each time you add a file, so that you can add all your pictures in one go, or one or two at a time, as it suits you.

If using Box does not suit you, we are happy to use other forms of file share or can organise for images to be emailed or for postal delivery.

We also create a password protected gallery on our website. When a new page is added, we will email you to ask for your opinion, if you would like to add text or suggest changes. You can share your link and password with family and friends if you choose; we can also add the album to Facebook if you like for easy sharing.

Once we have completed the album, we will send you a simple agreement to say that you are happy with everything and approve us sending it to print.

What size album should I choose?

Which size album you choose is completely up to you. We always print the biggest albums for our own work, but it really is a matter of personal preference and budget. Mini-books are fantastic as a brag book style album, while Classic and Premium albums are great if you have lots of photos or writing you would like included. Premier albums are a stunning choice for professional photos or a very special event. We are happy to advise you on making your choice, and promise to give you the very best advice for the story you would like told.

How do the monthly payments work? Do we end up paying the book off in a year as opposed to one big hit?

We have a subscription set up for automatic deductions through Paypal to give our clients the option of using their credit cards. We can also organise direct debit if you prefer. Paying in instalments is a way of breaking up a larger payment. Some people choose this option for budget reasons, others because they find it easier to collect and send their photos once a month. It really is up to you. If you wanted to pay up front we would organise a discount for you, simply because it would reduce Paypal fees and time spent on administration.

Do you find that 28 pages is enough room to capture an entire year?

Twenty-eight pages is a nice length to give a good overview and capture the major milestones or events. We can create additional pages for a reduced design fee if you have a very big event you want to include, or if one month is quiet you can reduce it to one page and have another at three pages.

If I sign up now, do I have to start straight away or can I wait until after the baby is born?

If you would like to take advantage of our current special, we ask that you secure the discount by paying the first month of a subscription or by making a $50.00 deposit, and we are happy to suspend the remaining payments until after your baby is born.

Do I only send through the photos I want used or do I send through a selection and let you guys work your magic?

This is again down to personal preference. Some people are very specific in which images they would like used, and if they would like one to be the focus of the page or another smaller. Other people find it difficult to make a decision and are happy to leave it all up to their layout artist. We do not mind either choice, we just ask that you let us know your favourites and any ideas you have so that we can accommodate your preferences.

Do I get to approve everything before it is sent to the printer?

We will send you a PDF version of your book, along with a contract for you to sign to say that you are happy for the book to go to print. Nothing is printed without your approval.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit card payments through Paypal. We also accept bank transfers, cheque and cash. We are happy to work out a flexible payment schedule with you.
